Stanadyne Performance Formula Froze/Gelled

About an hour ago, I filled up with fuel. Reached back in the bed to grab the Stanadyne and it was froze. Last nite where I was it got to -14 and right now it's hovering at 0.

Here's some pictures. Sorry they are a little blurry, but it's early.

Stanadyne Froze

Never had this happen before with Power Service or Howes and it's been a lot colder than this.

I have always kept this stuff back in the bed and never had a problem.

Well, it's been 20 minutes now in the house and it's back to normal. Actually it was starting to unthaw while I was taking the pictures.

Makes you wonder........

BUT when Stanadyne PF is mixed with diesel fuel, it has a pour point 30 degrees colder than its next closest competitor and has a much higher lubricity.

True enough.

But it's being froze caused me to spend another $5 for a bottle of PS white.

Maybe someone needs to design a holder for the bottle that mounts in the engine compartment on the passenger side to keep it warm.

or.....you could move south..........

Find yourself a couple of Stanadyne "One Shots" and refill them. They fit perfectly in the door pocket.

The better Diesel fuel Conditioners/Anti Gel Formulas will gel by themselves. Same with straight Coolant Anti Freeze!
Not something to be concerned about.

It is when you can't get it out of the can when you need it.
I quit using Stanadyne years ago because of the gelling problem.
Heck if I'm going to carry that stinky stuff around in the cab just to keep it usable.

The bottles like to leak, too.

It took about 3 years and lots of cleaning to get the Stanadyne smell out of the carpet under my seat.

I like the product, but the packaging sucks!
