Sold my truck on Saturday
It was useless to me, my wife and my three kids being a single cab.
Man it was hard to see it drive away. Looked good driving away almost made me want to keep it.
But now I'm in the market for a 2007 or 08 2500 quad cab 4 x 4
Found a 2007 slt quad cab 4x4 swb 6-speed auto
Sticker

Talked them down $35,000 + ttl $2,187
So what ya think is $37,187 A good price$$$$
Plus the $5,000 I will put down from what I made on the sale of my truck.

They do have $4500 in rebates right now.
I recommend the Mega Cab if you have those kids - don't be sorry and not get it. Basically with the Dodge Employee price (which I don't see how you could do better that this) plus the rebates off the sticker - my price for a vehicle stickered at 50,500 was about $40,000 OTD for a 2008 SLT Mega 4x4.
A 1500 or some of the other cabs have a 5500 rebate - anyway NOW is the tie to buy. You won't get a better deal. 2007's may be a better deal and certainly there are more QC's out there. Mega's are few and far between. Matter of fact I don't think I've seen a 2007 in a 2500 version left. There may be 1500's or 3500's available.

Look around and see if you can get down to $32k + ttl at least, maybe even lower. This time of year and in this economy they should be willing to give you the truck
.
Seriously shop at least 3 or 4 different dealers in the area. Helfman Dodge has a lot of trucks on the lot at Silber and I-10. Decide if the Lonestar option package is what you want and then just start playing one against the other. If you have the time and patience it does work.

I talked to the Service Manager and service writer at Helfman some about the 6.7s, they said they had a lot of 6.7s coming in for emission issues and other minor things. Service writer said a lot more than any of the 3rd gen 5.9s.
check out http://www.bonhamchrysler.com/ . they are a pretty high volume dealer and i did almost my whole deal over email with them .
1. If you said you could get the truck for free, someone is going to tell you that's too much to pay. Someone always has a brother or uncle or friend who got a deal that was unbelievable and you'd be crazy not to wait until you got the same price.
2. That's probably a good price especially if you like the truck, want the truck, can afford to buy the truck and can sleep at night after you buy it.
3. Never ask if the price you paid was a good one, it wasn't, you paid too much.
