shoulda seen the flex plate from the 7.3 p choke
Well 55 thousand miles is a lot, so it was time to replace the oil pan on our 2001 mason dump. why you ask? well it RUSTED through! dripping oil on 30 thousand dollar driveways is not a good idea. Sent it to the shop to get worked on yada yada pulled the motor, Well lucky for me they inspected the flexplate. guys I got to get a picture for yas soon but let me tell ya, a staple has more metal in it than what was left holding that plate together.... right around the outside of the bolt hole circle to the crank it was cracked and bits and chunks missing.....I figure it had another week at most and it was going to grenade and leave me stranded. truck is used for plowing and hauling a small enclosed trailer around, bout 1.5 tons at the most. no power upgrades at all. got it back and its doin fine, new oil pan is sealing good.
