Which fuel additives to use?

New to forum so am sure that this question has been asked before so appologize for repeating question. I live in VA so it does not get too cold but I am getting ready to take a trip to OH for Christmas. I have an 02 Quad with the standard diesel. My question is what fuel additive do you recommend for use? Also, what would you recommend to use all the time. I have seen the PS in the local auto parts stores but I have also heard of another kind but can't remember the name.
THANKS
Ray

I have been useing Power Service. Most the chain parts stores have it ,and walmart has it at a good price. The white bottle has the anti geling ,cetane boost, fuel lube, for your injector pump. The silver bottle i dont thing has the anti geling , has fuel lube, and has more cetane boost .

I used to use the Power Service, but lately I switched to Lucas. I did notice a difference in mpg from the switch. Lucas was a tad bit better. I don't know if it was the wind, fuel, or my driving habits. but I feel that the Lucas was better for my engine. I've used it in the past 4 tanks and won't go another tank w/ out it.

I used the Stanadyne last trip. Didn't notice any change in mileage. The bad thing is that it worked so well cleaning everthing out, the dern beast don't rattle like used to it.

I use Redline. I believe in their products across the board. It's also quite economical to use at 1 oz per 10 gln's. 1 gallon jug is about $35 but it will treat 1200 gallons. They make a few different recipes depending what you're looking for.

Stanadyne is good stuff, but way pricey. I know a lot of folks here like power service. I find it too bulky and pricey though.

My vote goes to Stanadyne Performance Formula. I use it with every fillup. It even tells you how much to use. I live in a very cold climate during winter but this stuff cleans as well as protects the fuel in the cold.

I have run the Rotella DFA and Power Service, both available at WalMart. I switched to the Stanadyne Performance Formula on recommendation from Dodge Dealer and Star due to injectors problems. Haven't had any other injector problems since switching to the Stanadyne.

Whatever you choose, don't use anything with ATF or Alcohol in the product...

I always use Lucas whenever I get fuel. Just my preference though.

I use what ever is on sale, usually Power Service or Howe's.
Poll on an over the road truckers website showed that the vast majority of truckers use Power Service. More than likely because it's easier to get than most other brands and does the job.

Thing that I found weird about Stanadyne is that it would turn to slush in the jug when the temp dropped below 0°F. Never had that happen with other brands.
