Should I use any Fuel Additives?

A lot of people use different Diesel additives, such as:

STP

or others, I do have a brand new truck, so im wondering which one should I use, when to use it or should I even use any?

I would deffinently suggest running a fuel additive. It helps increase fuel lubricity and will help fuel systom parts last longer. There are many products out there such as Power service, standyne and so on. We've ran power service from day one.

Are they all pretty much the same? Can I use STP sometimes, Redline another time.....etc. Also, Does the Fuel tank need to full before I add the additive and Once I add it, does it need to be used at every fill up?

Also, which one do you use?? The injector cleaner, anti-gel, Cetane booster....etc?

I use the Stanadyne Performance, seems to cover everything, though there are cheaper options. I purchased the case of 6 gallons from Diesel Injection Services and use it at every fill up, prior to filling.

Not all diesel additives are the same. Some are little more than purified diesel. Look for an additive that actually says it does something other than just improve performance... as in prevent gelling to -x deg. adds 5% mileage or money back....adds 5 Cetane....etc. I use Howes in winter and truck is noticibly quieter and it flows freely at -25. In warmer weather I use Standyne performance and it keeps the internals quiet and definitely better acceleration and mileage. I don't have a fuel heater hooked up anymore and the truck starts within 2 seconds at -25 and no long smokey warmups. Diesel Kleen did nothing for me. ks

With the direction diesel fuel is heading ( low sulfer fuel) I would say the most important thing to look for in an additive is to add LUBRICITY! I personally use Stanadyne but I am sure their are other good brands as well

I use the Power Service. The white bottle is their 'winter' formula. Silver bottle is for 'summer'. I mix either one with MMO(Marvel Mystery Oil), 12 ounces Power Service with 4 ounces MMO.
