Should I buy this Ford/Cummins?

He wants $2200, It's a 1986 f350 dually, it's got a 94 160pump 12v with 115 miles, truck itself has 204k miles. Says it runs great, but has a bad nv4500 out of a 98 cummins. He said it made a high pitched whinning noise before the trans died going up a hill, now it won't shift. I really want another truck for work and make that flatbed into a dump bed

Shoot, the engine alone is worth $3k+. The money that thing should go for and what your really pay, should pay for a new NV4500. Go for it!

The truck looks great too! I love that Ford body style too!

Id say go ahead and get it. For that kind of money you really cant go wrong IMO. If it turns out to be a total flop you could easily make your money back by parting it out. Motor and pump alone are worth well over that price, not to mention the rearend, front end, bed, cab, transfer case, etc. etc.

You could pay off the truck through your rear-end if it doesn't pan out Not really what it sounds like guys

Sounds like a heck of a deal. You don't see too many quad cabs in that body style either.

ford- cummins

i always liked the ford trucks more than the dodges, but the cummins won me over, with that combonation you get the best of both worlds- the better looking, better interior with the best diesel available-buy,buy,buy

Yep, I've always wanted a Ford with the Cummins. I've been seriously considering the F650 lately. Probably end up with a divorce over it, but hey, two birds with one stone! lol
