Saw a dead Duramax today

I was on my way home from dropping my mom off at the airport today and saw a new Duramax being loaded up onto a hauler...looked stock (unless ol' boy did all sorts of upgrades and just decided to leave the stock exhaust on her? ) Wonder what happened?

That duramaxer prolly just choked on a little cummins smoke and needs some CPR. A good shot of ether may revitalize it! So would a .45-70 slug for that matter!

2nd is dodges... mostly 2nd gen 24v's, next is 3rd gens

I actually haven't seen many Chevy's on the side of the road, but I know they end up there!

So far this year I have seen 2 dead 6.0 powerstrokes. One was pulling a backhole on a flatbed.(He turned down my free tow offer)The second one had a empty flatbed and was being towed by a Ford Tow Truck (scarey) I also had to haul my brother in laws Duramax 200 miles home (one way) do to a blown turbo.

I used to see more Dodge diesels at the Farm and Ranch shows, but lately I see more Ford diesels at the same events meaning more farmers are driving Ford pickups now around here than before. There are a few more GM diesel pickups around here, but mostly I see Dodge diesels on the road. In September a new Duamax quit at our mail box off the highway when I was collecting the mail. I went back to my shop and brought some wrenches. The driver was a young guy and he disconnected the battery hoping to kill the computer. He said that worked a number of times before but this time it still would not start. It was towed away. I hope I do not have trouble with my 24V third generation Cummins. I am starting to really like the truck.

My local news did a report on how unreliable the Ford Ambulance was with the Powerstroke in them I guess. HA!

The EMS guys talked about how unreliable they were.

In 35 years of teaching secondary school I found the best way to get a discussion (fight?) going was to claim I saw a Ford-Chevy-Dodge pickup broken down beside the road. Sounds like we never grow out of it. Personally, you'd have to give me bunches of money to drive something other than my Dodge. Duramax - pah! Fords and the International diesel - bah! Junk, both of them. That's my fair and balanced opinion.
