Well they're wrong, because pulling my skidloader I can hit 1400 degrees pretty easily.....and not lugging it either.

No, they are not. Remember, I said on my engine. I have a SO 250hp model. Just a little different then yours. It appears as though the higher HP motors run hotter.(More HP needs more fuel)

If the pyro probe is in the down pipe, like you said, could be 300 degrees hotter than shown. I wouldnt temp that gauge much over 900 degrees in that case. Some will go real hot on dynos or burnouts, but thats not a steady pull like towing over distance.
