The main Duramax forum like this one hosts a 10k lb trailer loaded race every year that includes all brands especially modded ones.
If someone feels like searching about it here you go http://www.duramaxforum.com

LOL, I am going to assume, (dangerous I know) That you knew I was joking.
While I do not tow anything less than a 5500 I can tell you that I agree completely that the amount of 4500-5500 Duramax ambulances that we tow is ridiculously proportionate to the 6.0. I know that that may be a sore spot for most here but it is the truth non the less.

That article is smelling fishy... While they left out all the GM reps and advertising, its coming pretty clear that it was all GM funded..
GM KNEW the results of that test LONG before it was ever propositioned.. then they got a third party to "independently test" the trucks..
It makes me REALLY wonder about the outcome of entering the Dodge into the competition.... either it beat the GM, or came so close that the GM was afraid that customers might decide to keep the extra $$$ to purchase a GM and jsut buy the cheaper Dodge..
hhhhhmmmmmmm.....
Yeah and I'm thinking after reading the article that Ford got blindsided by GM .... I mean they had GM buy both the Ford and the Chevy and then had an EX Ford employee do the driving ??? Not all ex-employees retain employer loyalty after they leave the firm .... Roger? You can't tell from the article whether they even had the same diameter tires; an inch makes a big difference in a test like that. I remember talking to one of the techs that used I-70 & US50 as a test strip for GM though he was an Isuzu (DMAX LTD.) employee several years ago and he stated that they could get 600+ HP out of that engine whenever GM wanted it. I'm thinking that the Chevy that Diesel Power Mag used in the 'King of the Hill' test had been tweaked a bit and/or the Ford was 'DE-tweaked' That test just leaves 'way too much laying on the road to be taken seriously .... I'd like to see them repeat that same test with the same trucks when Denver is about 90 or 95 degrees and the pass is clear and sunny

HAHA so true but it seems the average consumer (non-enthusiast) won't know any better. They just assume the what they read is true and which ever has the most power will be the best, not always the case as we all know. I love my first gen even though it is not a power horse it gets the job done reliably with a low operating cost and will outlast most trucks on the road.
