General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Right place, Right time

I loaded up the trailer yesterday with a bunch of scrap rotors and parts around the shop here, went to the junk yard since the prices of scrap are up right now, as soon as I pull in, I see a 2nd gen truck completely smashed with the roof cut off, and I notice the tailpipe. You bet, a mighty fine Cummins in the twisted metal. I bought the two rears, motor and tranny for $250.00!!!!!!!!! The only thing I see broke externally is the timing gear cover (the aluminum part). The odometer says 143K. Finally I get a good deal.

Spots I'm not really sure. I have a 76 Crew Cab that has a real nice body, That might make a good donor, And it is a REAL Dodge crew cab. For now I'll just go out every night and OOOO and Ahhhh over it and think of how much an idiot this guy at the salvage yard was for not knowing what he had.

RicK:

Is an "under-valved" or "over-valved" CTD?

Contrats on you "purchase"

Now you will have something to do with your spare time!

Will do, BTW, will you be changing your handle to Lucky Dog? What a great deal. He got all the money he wanted for his stuff and you got more than enough parts for your money.

Everybody is happy, everybody wins. Now if'n you don't crow too much, he may just do it another time
