You've obviously never driven a V6 Ram. Mine is so slow my girlfriends 4banger saturn is faster . But, hopefully that will change soon....

I think you can take it, but with a diesel, the thing you have to do is take advantage of the boost you can build to get off the line... Those gassers are stuck not being too fast off the line, but if you build some boost, you can be in front of them before they know what happened. If I were you, I would Build at least 10psi(i do it everytime i race with stock shafts). Id say you would actually be fine with 15psi with your billet input. Either way; build 10psi or so, mash it, and let off the brake at the same time when the flag drops, and you will instantly have 1 lengths or so on him. We need video though

Well, I've noticed while experimenting that I get very mild tire squealing, more like chirping, at 5 PSI, but roast them at 10 PSI. I don't want to launch in 4hi without a billet output, I think I'm stuck launching at around 5 lbs. It takes some running to get it to really build power, but once it gets to third gear it feels like it's trying to take flight. I'll try to just keep up with him til she hits 3rd, we'll have to run several times to compare.

Dont be scared of 4wd. I dont have that much power, but I run 4wd with locked shifts on stock shafts when I go to the drag strip.

Your days are numbered-You WILL break the output in time.

Not yet. He just got back from a trip (Mr. Hemi), now his brother (Mr. PSD) is on a church trip to build houses in Mississippi. He'll be back Sunday night, and we'll get something lined up. Gonna video it, should be fun. We'll also be shooting skeet and mud slinging that day too, looking like it'll be about a week from now. I'll post it if I can. If I win, that is!

I don't have an automatic, but I have been in auto's that launched at 5psi and they take off pretty quick. Even at a 5 psi launch, I think you will smoke him. Also, when you race him, be sure you get in the left lane, so you can literally smoke him!

Oh, absolutely. He'll be getting the full effect of the CTD, I'll blow some soot all over his bling bling rims as I'm building boost, then give him a nice black racing stripe! (My, I sound cocky. Watch me get my rear end handed to me!) Waved to him today, he was sitting at a light and I was hauling some RR ties, gave him a puff.

If not from overstressing (tensile strength), it will be from fatigue failure.

The shafts just are NOT designed for that kind of abuse.
