The '97 Truck is probably a better truck than the 2008 even with 600,000 miles. But its kind of funny that they don't point out many other 600,000 mile trucks

You cannot really dog

the 7.3 powerstroke diesel engine. I have a friend that has well over 300K on his F250 4x4, and although it is stock, it does the job he has it for very well (pull a two horse trailer) I have ridden in the truck and it is nice. I have seen a couple with 350K or so on them and still chuggin along..

Heck when i got rear ended in San antonio texas, the tow truck that yanked the jeep outta the highway had 565K on the odometer and still sounded sweet..

My old supervisor had one with last i read about 225K on the odometer.. Its probly closer to 260K as we speak...

and to say i respect the 7.3, I have two uncles with BOMB'd superduties F350's that tow a 53 foot caur hauler fully loaded as well, and no problems with theirs..

IMHO, a 6.0 is where ford went wrong with the powerstroke... I doubt that the 6.4 will be another 7.3 in reliability.. but i wont argue that it will take a modded 7.3

I can dog the 7.3L since I used two of them for 100s of 1ks of miles...

both - a '93 & '94 turbo - started falling apart by 70K miles; and not just the engines, either!

The experience was bad enough to make me swear off of F**ds (and almost all diesels! ) forever.

WoW a Ford that went 600,000 miles big deal,, I have seen many Dodge Cummins with over 1,000,000 and still on the original engine. 10 years to make 600,000 miles is not a big deal either, ask any RV hotshotter they can easily put that kind of mileage on in 3-5 years if not more. The big question is since the introduction of Fords "famous" 6.0 and now the 6.4 ,,, lets see what kind of mileage they will get! I havent seen many 6.0 over 70,000 miles that have not had an engine swap yet. I myself have over 600,000 on my Dodge and for a 96 it will outpull most trucks unless they are heavely modified. Lets see that FOrd in 400,000 more miles and see what they can say

I'm sure he is the same Wobblin-Goblin from Arfcom. And quite frankly, after many of the unflattering things he has had to say about Dodges over there, I am both a little surprised and curious as to why he is here. Must be to help his dad with those crummy old Dodges he rants about in every diesel truck thread.

You must be one of the lucky ones then.
