Powerstroke ?

A friend of mine has a 2000 powerstroke . What would you guys recomend for a entry level power & mpg upgrade ? He wants something plug & play, he doesn't want to change the down pipe as of yet.

I would recommend a 2006 Dodge Cummins Nah, I liked the 7.3s pretty good. I don't know enough about his truck to help you...please give me more info than just "2000 powerstroke"

Derek

Derek I told him the same thing about getting a new Cummins .What he has is a 1999 F350 4x4 7.3 auto & he is looking for who has best controler that he can add on & not have to upgrade anything else at this time.

Edge makes an EZ for the 7.3 Powerstrokes, that would be a good basic upgrade. If he wants a tuner, instead of a plug in module, then the Edge Evolution is pretty nice.

I had a superchip. It worked fine. Took 10 minutes to install and only cost about $300. It had 3 settings 70(towing), 90, & 110 Hp. It seemed like a lot more power than stock. I put it on my Dad's truck when I traded to a Dodge.

I would recommend no mods..with mods the PS becomes highly unreliable...just my 2 cents

That is a bunch of crap it is just like the dodge they have there breaking point and it is a little closer than the cummins, the biggest thing is that it costs more money. I had a 7.3 that was a pretty fast truck.

I had an Edge Evo on my 96 F350 before I sold it. I was very pleased with it.
