Possible new truck :)

I think my search may have ended , it's not a 98 , but it is definetly the next best thing:

97 Reg cab , 4x4 , auto , fully fully loaded, every option including leather power seats , overhead computer, infinity sound, wood grain dash, very very nice truck , i am going to see it on wednesday , if it hasn't been sold , and if i like it , i'll be bringing it home with me.

It sounds like it has been well kept , the present owner has had it since 2000 , and has only used it to tow his 18' boat 3 times , and not very far at that.

He is asking 15 000 CAN $ which if the truck is in the condition he says it is , it is VERY well worth that much. It has 265 000 kms ( roughly 160 k miles) on it.

It has never been in any accidents ( i will get the ins company to find out for sure before i buy, i have the VIN # , and it has never had a snowplow on it either.

Does this seem like a decent deal to everyone else?

That sounds like a reasonable price for the truck's condition since it's like $20 US.

Not sure what the exchange rate is for CAN$ -> US$, but if it's from $9-12k, it would seem reasonable for a truck with that mileage and condition. Check the tranny fluid while you're there. Actually, check all the fluids. I didn't and I ended up running for a few months with a dry transfercase before I figured it out.

I don't have a 4x4 handy to look at , what tools are required to check the transfer case and front axle oil levels?

and depending on the exchange rate you use , that's about 10k us $

For both you need a 3/8 drive ratchet

turn counter clockwise and loosen.. as goes for the oil bolt...
