'Ole Restrictor Thing
OK, I got bored and a new saw blade......then my mind started to wonder....
uhhhh that's not good, believe me.
We have all heard about the restriction in the intake to Number 1 cyclinder. Well that's where my mind went.
So I did a cut-away to show everyone the culprit and how much you CAN remove during a rebuild.
The only thing I noticed is the "hump" is drilled and tapped. I see no problem
in removing 90% of this obstruction. You could always thread a small plug in the hole.
There is plenty of meat around the casting with no water or oil near, there is
a head bolt in the area but not close enough to worry about. In the second pic
you can see the paper I stuck in the hole to show the reference to the head bolt.
THE PICS ARE 800X600 QUITE BIG FOR DIAL-UP
You are looking at about 10 minutes of work thanks to Porter-Cable. I was amazed
at how much you could grind away without fear of ruining the head.
Now everyone can see.
Have saw will travel

Just click on the pics they are linked to larger images.
I have even larger pics on file. I scaled them down to save
some time loading them.
BTW, from where I live it would be "come over to Missouri"
