Ok, I called into the Arizona Emissions department today to see if everything on my truck was legit, only to be met with a rather rude man. I asked about my truck being straight piped and if that would pass ok. He said no because the dodge trucks were manufactured with an Oxygen Catalyst built into the mufflers. ( I have a 2001) I argued for a moment but then backed off because the guy wasnt very nice, anyways, I continued on and listened to what he had to say, then asked if it was a problem for me to get and just get a 4" exhaust on it. He said he didnt know. So I want some input from ya'll about the OC that he claims *was* there and so forth. From what i have read and know, the 01's only came with a muffler and a resonator and no Catalytic converter! Thanks!

Edit: What do you guys know? Is there a O.C. on the truck in the muffler, I popped my hood today to look for the thingy that says all the stuff on the engine, but it was missing.... SCARY!

 

There absolutly was NOT a Cat on a 24v.

 

And there is no OC built into the muffler. On the HO's the kitty is separate. Can't miss it.
