Yeah you gotta like those REAL WOLRD comparisons
I guess that explains why I always see those FERDS on the drivers side and in my rear view mirror all the time.

I took this article with a grain of salt. I'm not suprised that the Powerstall is faster in the quartermile because of the higher reving engine, but that has a drawback, how well can that engine pull at the same speed going up grades without downshifting and having to rev the snot out of the engine. I much rather have a slower truck that can maintain the speed all day long without downshifting.
I bet they won't do a comparison between the Powerstall 6spd vs. the Cummins 6spd.

"...and the 325hp, 6.0L Power Stroke turbodiesel sporting a monster 570 lb/ft of torque. Again, class leading ."

Ummmm, I don't think so.

Well, at least Ford did a few things right. A real hitch for one. Finally someone gave these trucks a hitch that matches the capabilities of the truck. The integrated trailer brake is pretty cool too. Now if they'd only put in full guages for the diesel, they could force the other manufacturers to follow suit.

I think I'll hold out for an F650....

Makes no sense to me.. That article was full of flat out lies.. and I was a ford guy before I bought the dodge.. but the sick.0 scared the crap outta me.. seems to me that 325 hp and 600 ft lbs of torque is the class leader, not Ferds 325/570 combo.

What you are all missing is that Ford is basically admitting that the light duty SuperDooty / 6.0 is not in the same class as the medium duty Dodge / Cummins.

Ford's 6.ohno is classified as a "LIGHT" duty engine, along with the Dmax. The Dodge CTD is classified as a "MEDIUM" duty engine. Thus, Ferd rules the "LIGHT" duty class in HP. The new Dmax is putting out a measly 310 HP with "590" ftlb tourqe. It is all symantics, but no one ever gets past the hype to understand what is "REALLY" going on.

I would take a Dmax over a ferd any day of the week! I worked for Ford, what a joke. At least the GM guys are sober.
