General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Useless showoff truck.

Funny part anything above F550 is equipped with Cummins ISB or Cat engines....

No, Timberlea is a subdivision of Ft. Crack in the north end of town. The only other Timmy's in town is by the Clearwater Suites, and it didn't look like that area.

What I love to point out to the Ford guys is when you buy one of the F650 or F750s, your engine choices are:

- The 6.7L Cummins you can get in a Dodge 2500 (albeit with different ECM mapping)
- Or a 7.2L CAT I6

No Ferd engine even offered. Even Ford knows when you need stout reliable power, it has to be a Cummins or a CAT inline 6.

Not to defend them but you can get a International truck with 366E (PowerJoke)

I had one of those things pull up beside me this weekend. A bit much for a daily driver if you ask me.

the actual International 366e in med duty Internation trucks are FAR more reliable than the Fords powerstroke version. and you can thank Fords programming for HP on that platform.

the ones in 5 tons doing deliveries don't have near the power rating..... but they're far more reliable.

I wouldn't want to lift something heavy up into the bed of that thing.

Yellow! Yuk.

We've got a C5500 4 door 4wd with a CM hauler bed on it at work. I would much rather use it than our F350 or my Dodge to haul our equipment around. Main reasons, bigger brakes "wish it had air brakes thou", more weight "no fun trying to back down steep roads & driveways with little to no control", heavier suspension. Only down side to it IMO is the length, makes it a pain at times. But I personally see no use in a truck like these with a pickup bed on them! Hopefully we're trading the chevy later this spring for a Med duty Pete or KW, probly wont be fwd but at least will have more power & air brakes, Plus the cool factor of a Paccar truck.

It's cool and all but not shure what I could or would do with it..maybe work pulling trailers or something but for what that pays anymore not shure it would even cover the fuel cost...

But being were all truck nuts here if you made in the 300K a yr range who would not blow some money on one just to have a big *** toy like that?
