North Phoenix Repair Shop?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if someone could recommend a mechanics shop I could take my 98.5 to for repairs. This is my first diesel and I’ve only lived in Phoenix a couple years so I’m not sure where a reputable place is. I’m looking for someplace in the north valley from I-17 on the east end to the 101 on the west end. Anything from Bell road north would be great. I can always take my truck to the dealer but I’ve always had great luck in the past using a quality, independent shop. So if anyone could recommend a shop that knows their way around the Cummins I would greatly appreciate it.

Do you need motor service or trans?

I bought the truck used and would like a good, honest shop to give it a full look over. I've got a power stearing pump leak and a pin-drop oil leak from somewhere. Also, the trans, 5-speed, grinds bad going from 2nd to 3rd, and from 4th to 3rd. I think it's the 3rd gear shift forks but would like a professional opinion. So I guess I'm looking for both, motor and trans. It's an 98.5, 24v, 3500 Club Cab Dually. I got the truck for a steal so I figured I could put some $$ into it and a little more $$$ into it, and still be cheeper than most other trucks I was looking at.

Rocky Mountain Cummins LLC will probably look at the motor. Don't know what to tell ya about the tranny though. RMC is down on 99th ave and the I-10.. Hop skip and a jump down the 101 from you..

There's a fe numbers here: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ighlight=trans

I spoke with Fred at Desert Diesel and found him to be extremely knowledgeable about these trucks and the automatics. However, I have not used any local trans services.

Thanks guys. I called RMC and they're a little pricey but I think I might go there for a full check-up and list of items to be repaired. Then I might try some repairs myself and get some aftermarket parts and find a more local shop to tackle what I can't handle.

Ben with A-Z Diesel has always treated me right, the ph# is 480-288-0177, they are on the east side though. I drive to them from Central phx.
