In a way that's true. NOBODY outsells Ford in Texas. :-

Depends on which part of Texas your in! Out in the deep piney woods of east Texas all you see are Dodge duallies with six shooters. ;D

I've seen more Fords driving across Texas than Dodge...but I haven't spent just a whole lot of time in the deep piney woods of east Texas either.
I will say this though...since I bought my Dodge I've been noticing a lot more Dodges on the road. Maybe they were always there and I just didn't notice them.... :-

A cat would make for a nice set up. I agree though. We need an actual crew cab, and some nice things like the chevy owners. The dual climate control would help. That way the wife can roast, while I get comfy. Plus better seats that hold up to the getting in and out of the truck. Plus better mirrors.
Re:New Engine For Dodge in 2006
OK, I've held off on this long enough.
Dig a little deeper and you will find that DC owns Detroit and...they are definately working on prototype engines for the RAM and other brands under this umbrella.
How do I know? I was asked about participating in the cold weather testing up here in Canada in 2001. There is or was supposed to be a detroit proto in Rams for testing this fall but I have heard nothing yet on whether it is being tested now.
I got this direct from one of the largest Detroit dealers in Canada as they were the location that was going to do the R&D with DC on this for the cold weather testing.

Hired Gun...I have the dual climate control now and the seats are much better.
Time to sell yer old RAM.
:'(
The heated power tow mirrors are also a big improvment from the manual ones.

Re:New Engine For Dodge in 2006
My brother in law is a Mercedes Benz salesman (#2 in the US) and has been sent to Germany for training and test drives several times. A year or two ago he came back from training in Europe. He was told by some big-wig at MB that in 06 or 07 the Dodge diesel trucks will come with the Cummins standard, and a BIG MB diesel as an option. Can you imagine the cost of that bad boy? It would have to be 40K + if it said MB anywhere on it. Rumors are 450+ HP and close to 1000 ft/lbs of torque. By 2007 or 2008 it is possible that all of the motors would be made by MB. So here is the question, how many of you would go with a powerhouse MB motor over the Cummins, even if the Cummins was upped to 400hp stock?

I am not sure if I could bring myself to drive a Ford even with the Cummins engine.

I've always liked Fords, but loved the the Cummins. For me, that would be the perfect marriage! ;D

Re:New Engine For Dodge in 2006
I would take the cummins. However, I am not a diesel expert. I do know the cummins is tough. MB makes good diesels. The problem is getting it serviced if there is a problem and I would imagine that the parts would cost a fortune. You already know how difficult it can be to find someone that knows what they are doing with a cummins. Imagine taking the big MB dack to the dealership for something...
