New Dodge Question...?

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a fully loaded...
05 2500
quad cab
4x4
6' bed
W/Diesel.
The price I was given is $32,800.00

Seem like a good price?

With 3.55 rear and auto, trans 20" wheels...any idea on real world mileage?
Better mileage VS Power Stroke or Duramax?
Do these trucks have a comfortable/quiet ride? (my neighbors 99 2500 rides like a bunk board
Thanks for your feedback.

My buddy just traded in his 2002 4x4 ctd this saturday. He's now driving a 2005 3500 4x4 ctd dually. He let me drive it & man that thing is quiet, rides more like a car even with those trainning wheels.
His over head was reading 16.8 mpg which should get a little better with age.
The price your looking at looks in the ball park. You won't get a 355 rear end because that was in the dana now you get 373 or 410 with american axle. The truck should come with 17" wheels.

Motor trend has a head to head on the big three for 2004.
For mpg, it's Duramax, Cummins and Powerstroke last. The Dodge is the quietest but Motor Trend didn't like the Cummins and it's sound for some reason, so it came in last overall. Here's the link:

The price seems very good to me. I"ve very happy w/ the ride on my 2005. It really absorbs the high frequency washboards, on gravel roads. When you hit the deeper broader washboards hold on tight and slow down. The truck really bounces. Probably any 3/4 ton would.

Dave Smith, supposedly the largest Dodge truck seller in the US, quoted my friend $2000 off the $32k plus a $2500 factory rebate for final price of $28k on a loaded '05 3500 two weeks ago.
Could be worth a trip to Idaho

Truckin magazine also did a diesel shootout several months ago.

The Dodge came in 1st in all but two catagories.

They picked the Ford as best overall.
I guess Dodge would need to spend more advertising dollars with Truckin magazine than Ford does to win.

Update...so tonight my local dodge dealer calls my home (again) and say's "come in we'll sell you the Ram Quad Cab 4x4 6' bed Diesel w/Auto > in The Laramie W/H-package for $28,300
And he also said "Ray, I know you were going to pay cash but right now Dodge has zero financing, so you can keep the big nut in your bank"

Sooooo what do ya's think... Can I beat em up more?

With fuel prices going to $2.75 by Laborday I threw out the thought of another Diesel...but now with the above price...welllllll

I doubt if you can get them any lower but you should try to get them to throw in some accessories that you might like. I got them for a bug shield, the factory service manual and a winter front. Tried to get them for fender flares also but they put their foot down on that.
With the fuel prices they're sweating trying to get rid of the rigs that don't get 30 mpg.

Funny you mention this, as the salesmen more or less made a comment that due to Fuel prices their Diesel sales have dropped like a hot rock!
They have not and will NOT be ordering any for their lot.

Does Miller do a lot of diesels in the first place?

Ray, you can read my reply to you over on OB. I think you should GO FOR IT! For that price, they're practically GIVING it to you. Plus 0%? It's a no-brainer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC, you can't get 20" wheels on the HD's. I'm guessing you meant 3.73 instead of 3.55?
