If so, I sure hope that they can figure out how to incorporate some fuel mileage with it. Knowing what my new 5.9 325/610 is doing, or rather not doing, I can only imagine what a 6.7 would give.

Yo Rico,

If Joe "pickup truck buying" Public would figure out that diesel is not about HP you would be better off in the fuel economy department.

I have (4) 260HP/660TQ rated ISB's in our service trucks. When we load them they tip the scales at just shy of 30K lbs. They pull that weight like it isn't there at an average of 11-12mpg. Worst we have ever had was 9.78mpg. As soon as the little 5.9 breaks 2000RPM the fuel economy starts running downhill in a hurry.

My dad has a '97 7.3L (The better one) PowerJoke. When he hooks up to his 5'er he is around 24K. He is lucky to see 7.5mpg at 60mph.

If you think your fuel economy is bad you have no idea how good you have it.

If you could settle for 275HP and say 800TQ (actual TQ numbers have not been published yet) with the QSB 6.7L you should be quite happy with about 10mpg. That would be a serious puller! No other engine on the market with that displacement, horsepower, and torque would be able to deliver that kind of fuel economy.

That someone was me. It's not really an "article" just a quick paragraph in the news section near the front of the mag.

I heard that the 6.7 (maybe a 5.9 with longer throw crank) is supposed to show up in Dodge 4500 and 5500 next year.. Rumor??? The torque rating is up to 800 ft lbs and 325 hp. Could be a real diesel and not a plug and play format. Bullet proof P7100 pump.

The 4500's and 5500's have been doing time in Mexico. Hope they let them come this way. Ford needs a little good competition in that area.
