General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Smile New user, proud owner of a new 2500 Cummins

Hey Everyone,
I just found this forum and it looks like its full of great info. I was a former Dodge Ram 1500 owner and am ashamed to say that I strayed to a Ford PSD . Needless to say after four months of problems with the Ford, I'm back. I cut my losses and went back to what I know and trust. I picked up a new 06 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins quad cab 4x4. I'm a happy camper again and look forward to digging into this new forum.....

Yeah, welcome to DTR, and the PSDs ain't all bad. Well at least the 7.3s weren't. Those 6.0, I wouldn't own one if you gave it to me...

Well, my ford was a 7.3 and without a doubt had a very strong motor. That being said, I think whoever had it before me, drove that truck like they stole it. It was having mechanical problems on a regular basis. Oil Pan Leak, HPOP leak, Water Pump failure, tranny leak, Radiator failure, to name a few. Not being a professional mechanic, it just became more than I cared to try and tinker with.....I started doing the math and the monthly costs were greater than that of a brand new Dodge, so the rest is history
