and then they figured out that V engines are dumb and went to inline-opposed. and then they noticed that cylinders and crankshafts are dumb and started using turbines

If you dig a hole through the earth and jump in, you'll probably end up in orbit around the core. You'd need a winch to pull you out, and let's hope someone put that winch rightside up...

... not really - even a MileMarker hydro winch won't do it (don't ask me how I know! )
