Started my 2001 24 valve and everything was fine until I turned on the headlights. The rpms went from idle to 2000 and back without touching the peddle and after that the foot peddle was dead. Turned off the lights and the peddle would work. Codes are 1693 and 0121. I hope its the APPS but tell me why the lights have an effect. All grounds are good, alternator out put checks and no other power drawing device effects the foot peddle.

 

how did you check the grounds?
try manually turning on the grid heaters..I suspect you have the same problem.
try adding a ground from near the APPS to the driver side battery(use the ground wire in the APPS wire harness, but close to the APPS.

Turned out to be the Banks System was disconnected at the MAP sensor but no at the Ottomen computor. Thanks for the help
