Need a recomendation...

Howdy folks,
I would like some input from the members here that have had experience dealing with any of the diesel or truck shops around where I live. I am looking to add gauges to my truck (the '01). I want EGT/Boost/FP and I just don't have the time to do it myself. I am located in Bosque County, Texas. In fact, I would look at any shop between FT. Worth to Waco as I am almost exactly in the middle between the both of them.
If you have had any direct experience (good or bad) please let me know. I am surprised that there aren't any performance diesel specialists in Stephenville or Cleburne, considering the number of diesel trucks used in the area by us farmers and ranchers.
I would also be interested in talking to anyone that may have purchased a new vehicle from Cleburne Dodge in the last few years. I see that they are changing over to Champion Dodge, and there is a question as to whether or not the new owners will honor the VIP Services Program (oil changes for the life of the vehicle - to original owner) I purchased when we bought the wife's 2500 in '03. Would like to hear what they may have been telling you!

Drycreek, I don't have any info on shops where you live. But I can tell you that I installed a pyro to my 2003, and it took about 2 hours. I was working verrrrrrrry slowly too. Now I could do it in about 45 minutes to and hour (I think). I plan on adding the boost and FP next. I think those will be easier. I know this isn't what you were asking for, but I hope it helps. Do to the fact that my pyro install wasn't difficult, I bet any after-market shop will do a good job. Good luck!

Yeah, I guess that I could do the gauge install myself, but from what I hear the biggest part of the cost is in the gauge package itself. I have an outage coming up here, and the start of the 72 hour workweek for the next 5 weeks is looming over my head (even though it is only scheduled for 19 days, you know how it is when you are an operator).
I have put gauges in several other vehicles I owned. It looks pretty straighforward to me, but I am just not sure whether to go with a triple pod on the A-Pillar or some type of low-profile electronic thingy on the dash. I am kinda' leaning towrds the A-Pillar mount as I have a dashmat to cover up the cracks in the dash.
I also noticed that I misspelled a word in the thread title - jeesh, what a way to start out as a newbie on this board...
Recommend, recommend, recommend........

I have a 3-pod over the rear view mirror (only have a pyro in it though. The boost and FP are coming soon). It looks great, but I think the pillar installed pod is easier to look at when you're driving.

Good luck.
