my friend wants a powerstroke
Get your friend to sit in front of the computer for one hour, reading any posts he wants over at the dieselstop.com 6.0L PSD forums. That otta snap him out of it. I lurk over there once in a while....it's a real eye opener.
i used to be a ford boy from birth...drive ford gassers for years. then i drove my buddies 1500 ram, and loved it way more than my F150. Then my dad got a 7.3 powerstroke for work and i loved that thing. Then i drove a cummins and it was all over with. i just liked it better. the sound, where the power was, how it lasted. My pop bought an 05 6.0 and BigBlue can attest to what a peice of junk it was, i called him after my first tranny blew up...tranny, turbo and 2 injectors ALL AT ONCE! that was it for me...screw that thing haha

We know a guy here in Oklahoma that buys and sells cattle for people. He is a solid ford guy. Always has been. He bought one of the 08's about a month ago and always pulls a 30' stock trailer empty and loaded constantly. He has been getting 6mpg loaded and 8mpg unloaded. My brother saw him last week and asked him if he has caught anyone or anything on fire yet? He looked at him like he was BSing him. He hadn't heard anything about it. My brother told him there is video on the internet about it and everything. My brother said he thinks that the guy looked at him like he still thought he was messing with him. LOL
what year? if its one of the 7.3 liters he should be ok but if its one of those 6.0 or 6.4 liters give him your phone number and a moblie phone for christmas along with a good tow strap so your friend can call you to come get him when it breaks on the road
I used to prefer fords too until I had one that the T case didnt last beyond 70,000 miles. Not only was it costly but the truck was sidelined for 14 days while I found one and had it brought in
I know another guy that bought a NEW '97 F150 and the first weekend he had it he drove up the Dalton Highway which is 600 miles of northern wilderness between fairbanks alaska and the prudhoe bay oil fields. He went only about 300 miles before the tranny broke and got all ground to "you know what" and there he was stranded about 250 miles from a civilized city
