MT52 Kubota diesel.
A customer took the duty of putting gasoline into our one of our Bobcat MT52s that has a 3 cylinder Kubota diesel in it. Got the tank drained, lines flushed new fuel filter. It ran rough at idle, and at anything over 1/4 throttle it would smoke white/blue real bad and miss. So I took the injectors out and took the to get pop tested. FAIL.
Had them rebuilt with all new internals and nozles. now it runs great up until about 3/4 throttle and then falls on its face missing and smoking.
No excessive blow by. Im thinking it scored the injection pump?? What would you say??

Working on Bobcat engines is a real bear, they're crammed in there even worse than a Dodge.
Just out of curiosity was this a rental machine and who's responsible for the damage?

The customer is responsible for the damage.
***DIESEL FUEL ONLY*** is on the contract that is filled out and signed by them and we have stickers on the fuel cap, and right under the ignition key.
We offer a 8% damage waver, however that doesnt cover being stupid.
They claim that they filled it with diesel. and WE must of filled it with gas before they rented it... Best of luck to them.

I assume it was rented out with a full tank.
Stands to reason if there was enough gas in the mix to do the damage you describe it wouldn't have many hours on it after it left the yard.
Then again my understanding is the most damage done by gas is if there isn't a high enough ratio to stop the engine from running right away.
Gas under 20% can run some engines for hours, slowly killing it but only noticeable by an aware operator.
