19-23 MPG on the 99. The worst was pulling a 6-7K # trailer with a flat front, all highway through Tehachapi. That was 15-16.

Our 97 does 18-19 MPG. The worst was on a 12 hour off road trip that included 30 miles of hard trail. That gave usr 14.5

I get up to 19 on the highway, but normally around 15.5-16 in town, and 13.5-15 towing.

See sig for mods.

"Normal" driving: 14 - 15 mpg city.
Last weekend: cruise set at 2100 rpm, all highway achieved (hand calculated) 22.4 mpg
II&TS HR-VP44, Edge Comp run as EZ (level 5), Scotty II, stock injectors, auto trans, 4.10 rear.

YMMV

Welcome to the site 1998dodge,
It will help folks answer your questions a little better if you fill out your Signature with a description of your truck specs. You can do this by clicking on Quick Links in the header-bar above. Then select Edit Signature to put your description in.

Fuel mileage on my 99 with an Edge EZ and DD2 injectors is normally 19-20 mpg highway and I don't travel in town enough to give you a good quote on that. I also tend to stand on the GO pedal from time to time,,,,, ,,,,, and I imagine I could get 21mpg out of it on a long run. So far, I've never ran under 12.5 and that was pulling our 5er through the mountains of VA,WV,TN and KY.
Another thing to keep in mind is driving habits, tire size, 4x4/2x4, rear-end ratio and other things play a big role in your mileage too.

I have never gotten below 16.5-17mpg even towing a 11,000 lb trailer, the highest i have gotten is 23mpg that was cruising at 80mph with it tacting at 1900(missed 4 and 5th and went straight to 6th by accident). Most of my driving is highway, since to get from my house to the highway you can do 50-55mph and then once on the highway to go to town it is 18 miles nad you can go from 55-65mph then once in town it drops to 25 mph but the town is small so your not in it long.

17 to 19 city 21-23 highway. If I can keep it a little under 65 it seems to get the best mileage.

'03 HO 305/555 motor with six speed will average 22+ MPG on a 110 mile a day work commute. Towing 11200 5er averaged 12.2 MPG the last 3400 mile trip through TX/NM/CO/UT/WY/OK. Don't have a city for city milage..........JIM

2003 3500 SO, automatic, 4wd, 4.10 gears, 4 door short bed. Mix of highway and city driving yielded 18.3mpg(I hand calculate everything). City only driving, getting on it all the time, I hand calculated ~12.7mpg. NO mods.

City driving 14.5 mpg Just made a 220 mile trip on the highway where I actually set the cruise on 69mph and got 19.2mpg that was a record for me. I'm "adjusting" my driving style trying to get more mpg's. I'm a firm believer in running 70 mph is the way to get decent mileage. I just took my wifes 2003 Yukon on the same trip and actually got 19 mpg out of that gas guzzler. 70 mph is the key! Pulling I've gotten as bad as 8.7mpg but pulling 30000 lbs I usually got 10.5 mpg.
