2 ride more car like and they're diesels drive more like a hi reving gasser v8 so of course they're gonna pick it

But the Ford is really quite noisy compared to the Dodge.

Wasn't there some POS Renault that was their car of the year way back when?

What really made me chuckle was that they actually spent most of the text praising the Dodge, and criticizing the Duramax.

Plus, the called the Cummins a "limited appeal" engine. Heck, I've had both the PSD and Cummins, and liked both, but go over but even most Ford and GM guys would take the Cummins if it were an option in their trucks.

I'd think if you really wanted to be honest about it, all the diesels are really "limited appeal" engines. $5k option, can't get fuel on every corner, and so on. I don't know why you would hold something like that against the Cummins.

It obvious that the head cheezes in the usa really want to keep the diesel vehical for normal people rate down . because of emissions and petrol $$$ TAX $$$ better fuel milage, cheaper fuel, higher emmisions ....come on they dont really want every body to drive them. and if every motortrend and road & track type of magazine rated the truth cummins would be #1 everywhere and everybody would take notice. were being held back just like chevy held back poniac .. look @ england almost all diesel !!!!! its part of a master plan here in the US .there even offering tax breaks if you purchase a hybred car....wheres the diesel tax break it all makes perfect sence to me. less repair parts mean less jobs also 400,000 miles on every truck is a letdown to them also. dont beleave the mainstream the current is too strong and people get caught up in it. its the old try'd and true for me. my .02

I read the article in question yesterday, and true to form, MT basically said lots of good things about all the Trucks. (hedging their bets regarding future advertising revenue).
The irony of the article is that the things they knocked about the Dodge (vibration, trucklike feel, coarseness, etc.) were some of the things that appealed to me in the first place. If I wanted a 3/4 ton car, I'd have bought the Chevy, but I wanted a Truck, so I bought the Dodge.

if girly-men are reviewing the performance of a truck, then a mans' man can buy the opposite of what they like and be right on. so they do provide a service. or so it would seem.

Not new. I am a charter subscriber, since, I believe 1997 or so when TT came into existence.

MT and TT often share article, and TTs proofreading is just as lame as MTs.

The only magazine I buy once In a while is Truckin'. I just like to see what they are doing to those trucks and what they are using, how it looks etc. They always seem to like the Dodge and Cummins, they lift em right up and love it.
Any other magazines that compare cars or truck I dont buy, like one magazine that just compared a Pontiac GTO to a Mercedes AMG CLK. I couldnt beleive it, I was so disgusted I didnt even read the article.

Quoting Editor & Chief Csaba Csere from August ed of CarandDriver mag, "Technical Director Frank Markus was lured (away from our mag) by lucre to introduce some technical expertise to Motor Trend. " and we wish him luck, he will surely need it.
Obviously Motor Trend is undergoing some changes.

I'm not sure why I keep hearing that the Dodge runs rough compared to Ford. I grew up in a Ford family, and we pretty much always had Fords. My dad has a F350 PS as well as my brother, and I've driven them both. They ride WAY worse than my new Dodge does. In fact, I was very interested in buying the new 6.0L PS until I happened to test drive my first Dodge. For me, the overall ride and comfort was much better in the Dodge. I love it.

BTW - Hop into any PS and depress the brake while standing still and try to turn the wheel at idle. You will find that you loose power assist and are unable to turn the wheels until you let off the pedal. I checked a couple at the dealer and they all did it. This makes parking it all too much fun.

I still have other Fords, and I do love them. However, I love my new Dodge the most.

I have to add to what "DZLPWR" posted.

Back in December 2003, at our "N.C. Dyno and Drag Race"
held in Jacksonville, N.C. we ran a brand new 2004 Ford
PSD 6.0 Dually 4X4 with the new "TorqueShift" Automatic.
That truck ran a measly 212 RWHP on a Dynojet 248 at
"Waynes Dyno and Performance". It was a new inventory
vehicle from Sanders Ford in Jacksonville. All I have to say
is that is a heck of alot more "H.P. loss" than the usual
20-25%!! It sure surprised me!
