London taxi -- any info
I was watching an old movie and noticed the taxis. Sounds like a four cylinder, non turbo. Are they still making these? What engine? Mileage?

Im pretty sure they are still making em. I was stationed over there from 98-2000 and I had ridden in some that were Brand new at the time. I think theyre like the old mexican VW bus they keep making em and not changin em a bit. I am not sure on any specs for the motor....

Yep,they still make em although they have facelifted em a bit over the years. The newer ones have a Nissan turbo diesel motor.
There's some history here.

Not if you're a diesel fan...
It's funny, some high-line hotels in Chicago imported a few of these a year or two ago. Funny to note the "highbrow" thinkg to do was to ride around in a diesel. Cool by me (but I couldn't afford a ride...)
