i've wanted to put one of those small diesel engines into one of my nitro powered r/c car...

did ya'll know some of the nitro engines rev up to 40-50k rpms?

was just at the light plant in Pawhuska, Okla.

they have 5 ship sized diesel engines that can generate power. most times they purchase electricity from PSO, then redistribute.

but all diesels are ready to come on-line. they range from 4,000 hP to 6,000 HP motors.

last time they were all on line with during an ice storm. when all diesels are on line. consumes 1,000 gal diesel per hour. the pawhuska plant is one of two diesel generating plants in Okla.

sure wish I had pictures.... maybe I'll got back sometime and take some.
