Kerosene(sp)? Heaters

Ive read the post in here of people that want to run the kero through there truck. its basically like diesel only not having the lubircation to do it. So does that mean that diesel can be run through a Kerosene heater? If so that would be awesome. Came across a drum of old diesel fuel cleaning out an old shed and would be great to have some eh free ( paid for her at one time but still) fuel for it. When i say old its still good per say. only about a year. but old enough and who knows about water and what not

And might be something to use some of this veggie oil and bio im making on too

It'll burn but it's really stinky. OK in a barn or outside but don't try it in your hose.

I have ran diesel through a forced air kerosene heater, you know the torpedo looking heaters. The diesel does not burn as hot as the kerosene. We ran out of kerosene one day and there was a guy working on some heavy equipment, he gave us a couple gallons and it worked. I wouldn't recommend because the fumes are bad!!!

bad as in make you sick? The idea here is one. run through this diesel that probably has water in it, 2 use this bio that i make to thaw out my truckks this winter and keep them warm. but if they will smell bad and loose that new truck smell it might not be worth it :P

Stinky to the point of making you sick. The heaters call for clear K1 kerosene usually because it burns cleaner. You could try it but I wouldn't.

It would be like sticking your truck exhaust pipe in the door at 2500rpms to heat the garage. It would sound good though

I we have used diesel in high hat heaters in open areas and barns. When you blow your nose the result will be black but your warm.
