Arrow "June TOM Candidate Sign-Up"

Yeah,,, yeah,,,,, yeah,,,,,, I'm running late once again.

The category for the June Truck Of the Month poll is going to be,,,,,,,,

2nd Gen TWO WHEEL DRIVE 2500

And I chose this category because, for some reason, the 2WD guys don't seem to get a fair shake when they have to compete against the 4WD rigs. Not to mention, most of us with the two wheel impaired rigs have to put up with all the "Little Truck" jokes,,,,, (yeah I've heard a few,,,) and most 4x4 folks can't figure out why some of us chose 2WD on purpose. My reason was wanting a rig for towing a 5er on the road,
NOT down a tractor path after a two day rain.
Don't get me wrong,,,, there have been a few times I wished for 4WD,,,, but not enough times in the last ten years for me to have bought one. (Now watch me end up burying it in the front yard after saying that!)

So let's see some of those nice looking 2WD Second Genners out there.

Truck Of the Month Procedure for 2008

The DTR TOM Staff has come up with a new procedure for choosing the TOM candidates.

* Starting Dec. 1st, 2007, we will post a thread with the winner for this month’s poll in the General Diesel Discussion section of the forums.

* At the same time, we will post a “TOM Candidate” thread in the same forum. In this thread we will announce the category of trucks that will be accepted as possible candidates. (1st Gen 250, 350, 2nd Gen 2500, 3500, 3rd Gen 2500, 3500, MegaCab, etc.)

* If your truck falls into the chosen category for that month and you would like to have a chance to be in the poll, then you can nominate your truck by posting a picture from your gallery in that thread.
* NOTE: The picture MUST come from your Diesel Truck Resource Member Photo Gallery! (Anything else will be deleted.)

* You can also list some of the mods and accessories on your rig in the same post. Please post only once in that thread because the TOM committee will select three trucks from that thread to be in the poll. The process for selecting the three candidates from this thread will be completely at random. If your truck is not selected for the poll or it is but it doesn't win, you may nominate it again when your category comes back around.

* Previous Winners of the TOM will not be eligible to participate. (Previous Winner being defined as truck and/or DTR Member)

* The “TOM Candidate” thread will be open from the 1st of the month until the 14th of the month. That gives you two weeks to submit your truck.

* At this time it will be locked, the three poll candidates will be chosen at random and the poll will be posted on the 15th . The poll will be voted on until the end of the month and we start all over again on the 1st of the next month by posting the winner in one thread and posting the “TOM Candidate” thread for the next month's category.

Special THANKS to Tim Barber at TRE Diesel Performance for sponsoring the TOM Award plaques!

I'm sorry to say but the others don't stand a chance against my...

          EXTREME OFFROAD UTILITY TRUCK
While other 2WD trucks spend their lives pulling RVs on dry, paved roads...

... My 1996 Ram 2500 HITS THE OFFROAD PARKS!

          Time for some...

          ACTION SHOTS!

          • ROCK CRAWLING - LOOK AT HOW THAT IFS HANDLES THE ROUGH TERRAIN!
          • MUDDIN' - With an open diff and bald rear tires the E.O.U.T is ready for ANYTHING!
          • ROUGH TERRAIN - Other trucks are afraid to park next to me - CHECK OUT THAT SUSPENSION FLEX!!!

          MODS

          - Smaller than stock exhaust - MORE BACKPRESSURE makes the turbo work harder which in turn feeds the engine more air - EXTREME BURNOUT POWER!!

          - Reflectors - BLIND THE COMPETITION AT NIGHT!

          - Steelies with BLACK center caps - OMG SO SHINY!

          - Utility Bed - Extra weight for INSANE TRACTION!

          And thats jut the beginning!!!!

I too said that, then I ended up getting stuck a couple times in the 15" of snow we got a week and a bit ago. Now there is a black sheep in my 2wd family..
