how come I cant find a new one on their website? I have been looking at them for a couple years now, but wanted a newer one, and when I heard the NEWEST ones were getting better milleage, I got really interested. but I cant find any info...

 

It's not released yet. You can look at it on the VW website, but not build and price it yet.

 

The New 2.0 TDI is not for sale yet. Volkswagon has pushed the release date back several times now. Trying to work the bugs out would be my guess. They probably wont put it on the website until it is released.
My wife and I got a new 06.5 Jetta TDI last fall. Volkswagon made a big run of them before the emmision cut off so no DPF Great car averaging 38-42 with the automatic

 

2003 TDI has been great to me so far!! 108k on her now...

Avg MPG to date is 48.6
Low of 42.3
High of 56.9

 

Must be a manual tranny! Driving sensibly you can do 50+ mpg.
My 02 got 52.1 mpg on an all hwy, 2500 mile, trip....at 75 mpg!! Often did over 50 mpg around town.
Wish I could get it back from my daughter... but somehow it became hers permanently??

Run a high quality 30wt synthetic... like maybe Amsoil.... for best mileage. Works fine in mine and reduces drag.
