Am I crazy to sell my 05 Jetta TDI?

The car is like new with just over 38k miles on it. Leather, Monsoon radio, cold weather package, ESP (stabilization), trac control, 5 SPEED!!!, Reflex silver with the black leather. Stock car getting 46 to 48 mph on the highway. My family is getting too large for the car so the wife wants to get a bigger vehicle. If I could find a TDI Toureg I may jump on it. So am I nutz? Looking at some past sales on the net I'm thinking about asking $19,sumthing. I dunno what to do.

Toureg is an excellant choice with the twin turbo, v-10 diesel. But, be prepaired to spend mucho $$$, figure $55-60 grand! If you need alot more room then the jetta, the toureg may not work, the toureg is a like a passat on steroids. GM rumor mill is a v-6 duramax by the end of the year in the tahoes.

Hang on to it.

My truck will be paid off in about a year and a half, a 2004-2005 Jetta will be right up my alley round then. I tried and tried to get the wife to get one. We test drove a SWEET one, she ended up with an 06 Accord. Not a bad car, but not a TDI either

Yeah but who would want a gas V6? Regular gas is now more then DIESEL here in South Central VA. Life is great.

I am on my second '96 TDi Passat. Nothing feels as good as leaving Denver and getting the first tank in Ogden....or Fairbanks to Whitehorse YT as has been the case lately.

Take a look at the Passat TDi. They are selling them again. Since '04 I think. More space than the Jetta by far.

I would keep it..

I just purchased my second golf TDI about 2 weeks ago. It is a new 2006 golf GLS TDI PD. It is night and day better than my 92 golf Non turbo,.

I have some sad news about the TDI,s. As of right now there won't be any 2007 TDI's for North America. The sales person at the delership told me this when i was buying mine. I didn't believe her, so i checked on the net at TDI club and VW vortex and low and behold she was right. It seems that the PD motors do not meet 2007 EPA standards. VW muct come out with a CRD otherwise there is just too much NOx. Supposedly the 06 will run on the line an extra 3 months. It will taka them a bit of time to catch up, with a new style TDI available for 08 at the earliest. This must suck for VW as 30% of their sales here are TDI's. I am still in shock that as a major corp, they were not ready for this.

One thing is for sure the value of your TDI will only increase if there are no new ones available.
Alot of people are in for a shock when they goto the dealership to buy there new 07 TDI.

I work at a dealership and have heard no such thing. I understand that Calif. is suppose to get the TDi back because of the ultra low sulfur diesel.

With ULSD available in '07 we should see more foreign cars with diesels being imported into the US.

This very well may be because you guys dont have any TDI's at the moment to sell. Big bro needs to get off his butt to make sure that there is complete ULSD compliance accross the board before the new tech diesel are released. Here is one link of MANY that I found on that net about this very topic.
decide for yourselves, just sharing info that I found .

say it isnt so...
