I second, third, fourth, fifth even 20th everything that everyone is saying about the dtt customer service. Wish I knew this last year before I paid big money to get a Dtt trans in the ram.
Truck has been back to the shop once because all the proper parts werent installed the first time. I was quoted a tranny without that part and because the stock one stayed in things went bad. When I called, the i got the common theme"no answer". I do give the shop they use 5 stars, always good to deal with. On a positive note after a total gongshow they did fix the truck and have it running within days.
Good luck getting your core charge back, it took several home calls to a very rude "shanti". Nothing like chasing down your money.

Glad this has come out so everyone can see what's been going on. I figured as much but hadn't seen much negative feedback. Thank you Internet and forums. Until the customer service improves stay away, wish I had something else in there.

Cheers

If your converter is black then I don't think it's from rev max. On their website their converters are painted red. I'm sure Frank can let you know for sure.

Wait until Monday, I'll start a new thread and show what they did to me.. They sold me a transtar converter (which i didnt know until recently) that is supposed to hold 1000 pound of torque, but when I check the manufacturer it is good for 550. The converter was nothing more than a stock convertor with a billet cover. I had this thread over at cummins forum, but got deleted... Hmmm I wonder why??

The converter they sold me is a 3 disc that supposed to hold 1500+tq... i paid 1200$ for it. I already threw my truck on the dyno at the shop and made 500hp 1057tq on stock turbo with no lock up switch. SO i had to roll into the throttle in drive to keep it from downshifting.... so im sure there is a tad bit of tq left on the table there due to that. It has been holding up very well and i tow my boat at least 3-4 times a week minimum with a 90 mile round trip to and from the lake. After what i went through with DTT i really hope this thing lasts at least!! So far myself and my trans guy are very happy with the products and end result performance wise, it was the customer service that was absolutely HORRIBLE!

Does anyone have any idea who would/could have built my converter??

You may have actually gotten what you ordered and paid for...unlike bz2500 and I did. We are both in the same boat because we ended up with a recon stock tc with a billet front, which is rated for only 550lbs of torque.

Even though dtt screwed up, they want us to pay for shipping to get them looked at, and after they take them apart, they will decide if they will replace them. In the meantime, they have your core held hostage should you want to go with another brand.

One more thing; make sure you get your warranty in writing. I didn't and dtt is trying to screw me on that as well. When I called that my tc was toast, I was told I only had a one year warranty. Stefan told bz2500 on his deleted thread that dtt singles have always had 2 year warranties and he advertises the ones he sold us as having a 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty.

Don't take their word for anything...get it in writing.

I "think" i got what i paid for. The converter that's in it now actually drops rpm and doesn't just hold at 3250-3300 the entire time like my stocker did.... Now it drops to about 2800 after it shifts at 3200-3250rpm. Its much tighter and truck drives great.

So no one have any idea who could have masde my converter? Who all supplys DTT with converters? The converter i got from them shipped out of GA. They said it was one of their warehouses.... but i dont think they have one in GA lol.

You actually may have gotten what you paid for...it has happened. Since they don't make anything, they rely on suppliers to provide their products...they just supply the markup.

I believe dtt is currently getting tc's from DPC and Goerend. They changed their supplier after getting too many complaints about their transtar/recon tc's.

Of course, they refuse to admit they are at fault with the previous supplier and if you bought one of those you may or may not have gotten what you paid for.

Basically, it's a crap shoot. The forums are rife with stories of crap service from dtt, no return emails or calls, extremely late delivery and no after sales support.

There is nothing I know of that dtt sells that can't be had cheaper elsewhere. If you want a DPC or Goerend tc, (or other transmission part), I suggest cutting out the middle and buy direct. At least then you know what you're getting.

I was under the impression that they design, engineered and made their own products in their own facility.
Looks like it maybe smoke, glass and mirriors and little snake oil. I thought they were the top 1% of the best in this business. I'm dissapointed!

Will I bought about $300 of parts from them back in September. Start to install them this week and found I was missing a sealing ring.
After hearing all this, I'll just go buy the part somewhere else and not waste my time.
