Instrument cluster lights

98 Dodge 2500 4x4 quad cab..
Instrument cluster lights working fine the other day, but this morning the instrument cluster would not come on. The fan, radio, dome light and everything else seems ok. Checked the fuses in the cab for the instrument cluster, and they are good. Anyone, have an idea what could be wrong with the lights in the instrument cluster?

Try re-seating the connector on the back of the cluster. There are 7 bulbs that are replaceable, highly unlikely that they all blew at once but you could have been down to only a few and they blew.

Thanks Busboy...Now how in the world do I get my hand up to the back of the cluster...I did try reaching a couple of the bulbs, but no luck. Strange enought, I turned the lights on and off and the cluster lights blinked on for a second and then went off. Tried the same thing a couple min's later and the cluster did not even blink on for a second. Have someone coming to purchase the truck Thursday. I am sure the light issue would not stop him from buying the truck, I am just not the type who likes to pass on problems to someone...Any other ideas or help? Thanks

It will be the rheostat on your light switch that's pouched. DC is famous for pouched light switches on '98's.

He may have an after market radio with a separate lite but if the fan sw lite works then the rheostat must be working OK I would think.......
