I'm not a traitor,but

My company just bought me a Duramax/Allison 4wd.
It's only got 1050 miles so far,and all I can say is it's way better than the usual 350 I get.
My personal vehicle is a 2001 Dodge Cummins, and I feel that so far the Duramax doesn't have the brute low end grunt the Cummins does.
I'll be making a few fair comparison comments as I get more miles on it.
As of right now I can say that the D/A is very smooth.
I really like the engine braking on the allison.
My first 2 tanks of fuel have averaged 17.5 in oilfield situations.
It's VERY good in mud even with the crappy hiway tires.
More later
Mike

Cummins will always have the lowend grunt. Only because it a Cummins and its an inline6. The Ford's inline6 gasser has alot of lowend grunt. Thats why when someone made a inline 8 it had the most torque for awhile.

SD03
