I agree with Hoss, perfect to me would be a 92-96 Ford 1-ton XLT Lariat with a 5.9L 12v to the tune of 600hp NV4500 or 5600, 205, dana 60/80 extended cab long bed SRW. Black and silver two tone on 35's. But it'll be awhile until I own that truck. But I have to have the cummins now that I've had one. Just can't beat the reliabity and it's SO much easier to work on than the v8 diesels. Lots more room for cool stuff too. I just like the styling of that body style and the interiors better than the dodges. Of course I've never been in a dodge past 02. so who knows? Perfect is different for everyone, and still nothing ever hits it on the head but there's thinks that come close. That'd do it for me.

Does anyone really think that the outcome of this poll is going to do anything except for declare Dodge as the winner. After all, this is a Dodge website.

Besides, the PERFECT option isn't even listed....Ford w/Cummins.
I do not know why anyone would just call Ford with a Cummins engine the only perfect combination. Granted, the Ford Super Duty trucks may have some fine features, but so do Dodge and GM trucks. I would not be ashamed to drive a GMC or Chev if it had a small Detroit inline six diesel in the engine compartment. Likewise, I would not mind driving a Ford powered by a Navistar inline six diesel. I think Dodge trucks are grand units and thankfully they have a Cummins inline six diesel engine. On the other hand, I would not mind driving a Dodge with a Mercedes diesel either. They may not be perfect human beings, but the Chrysler engineers have more between their ears than the less than honest folk at Ford or GM who try to promot a technically inferior configured diesel engine to the ignorant driving public. GM and Ford are trying to profit from the decades of automotive brain washing the pubic has gone through to convince them that V configured power is superior to any inline configuration. Bullcrap does baffle brains. Is this really an exclusive Dodge website?

A Ford with a Cummins would be like putting sugar on a turd. I'll stick with Dodge. I even decided to give the Hemi-roid a try. It's doing great! The Dodge/Cummins is a great combo. Ford would find a way to ruin Cummins' reputation the first year out.

Don't know about anyone else, but I never said a CTD in a ford was the only perfect combination, just MY perfect combination. My dad has a 98 Ram2500 gasser, and I like it, minus the steering play, but I love the 80's-early 90's Fords. they just fit me. the styling the interior, i like em. But I hate powerstrokes, everyone i've ever known that has one has had nothing but problems, so i'll stick with my CTD's. Just an opinion, everyone's got one.

Although everything is not flawless, I have driven both the Ferd and the Cheby and neither fit as near as a pair of jeans better than the Dodge!

Ergonomically the Cheby would not work because of the poorly designed interior and poor attack and departure angles associated with the IFS.

The Ferd was noisy(wife's observation) and gutless, though the interior was a better design than the cheby. Larger but cheaper constructed than the Dodge.

What if, in a perfect world, nothing went wrong and nothing blew up... What brand of vehicle would reign superior... The Ford Powerstroke, The Chevy Duramax or The Dodge Cummins?

Keep in mind this is just a theoretical idea and should not be taken to heart. I'm just interested to see, with the all problems aside, what everyone would do. Just try and keep it simple folks

With brand loyalty aside I think I'd still stick with my Dodge. Cab comfort suits me and that low end torque always makes me come back for more... Yup, I'm hooked...
Since you said "what if" that means everything right I'd still go with the Cummins!

Because....ummmm....let's see....that is my OPINION. Besides, I never said it was the ONLY perfect combination. I just said it wasn't listed.

Pretty much. They tried to open it up and have Fordy and Chevy forums and there was no interest.

Edit: "Fordy" was actually a typo but after seeing it I kind of liked it. From this day forward, Ford shall be known as Fordy.
