I got a question about stacks..
So what do you guys with stacks do when it starts raining?? I've been wondering about that for a while. Do you have to run outside and put a coffee can over the pipes?
I just leave em be. I've left the truck standing still in a rain storm that dumped 2"-3" of rain before and got in it the next morning and fired it up without any problems. Mine drains out of the 90" elbow under the bed so it's no big deal.

I drilled/tapped then installed a stainless 1/4 ball valve in the bottom of the 90. So far so good. I used a stainless ball valve with the locking handle to prevent self opening. I ordered the ball valve from Mcmaster Carr. It was only like 10 bucks.
Mine is a 5" stack. The 4" runs up inside the 5" for about 18". When it rains, pretty much all the water runs down the sides of the 5" and drains out holes drilled in the 4" to 5" adapter. No black crap spattered on my truck.

Theoretically speaking, if the truck sits long enough in the rain, the water could fill the exhaust, enter the turbo, fill the exhaust manifold, and enter a cylinder via an open exhaust valve.
Two things can then happen.
You hit the key and bend a rod; or, the weather freezes and busts the cylinder liner, exhaust manifold, and piping.
