Re:Howes Meaner Cleaner

I have given up on finding Howe's Meaner Cleaner in Houston, Tx. I have been all over this town looking for that stuff.

So, let me ask you all what you think of Lucas's Fuel Treatment. Is it about the same as Power Services's Diesel Kleen or does it do something entirely different? I can find Lucas products everywhere, but I am not sure if the Lucas product mets the Cummins L10 injector test or if it increases cetane rating. Their home page does not say.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Tom

Take a bottle of Power Service and a bottle of Lucas and you will see the difference in the lubricity qualities of the two. And yes, the Lucas meets the Cummins specs.

Any of the truckstops carry it. Try the Pilot on IH45 exit 50. If you get out on 290 towards Waller, I know the Love's truckstop has it. Exit FM 2920..... or any of those on I 10 in Baytown..... ;D

Re:Howes Meaner Cleaner

Thanks for your help with my question.

OkieBroncRider-Thanks for your advice. I see what you mean by look at both and decide about the lubricity. I looked at Power Service and Lucas....what a difference. The Lucas looks like it has it on most of the additives when it comes to its lubrication qualities. Plus, according to the owner, his product doesn't contain any environmentally unfriendly ingridents and will still clean the injectors as good as other additives. Now, I don't know about that. If Lucas doesn't use any unfriendly ingridents, I wonder what it uses to clean the injectors?

tomrock-Thanks..I am pretty close to FM2920 & 290. I must be getting older than I think. I didn't remember the Love's out there.

dieselcrazy-I haven't used any of the Meaner Cleaner yet. I am not sure how much I would use. The price might dictate how often I would use it.
