Howes Meaner Kleaner and Fuel Presser
Howes Meaner Kleaner and Fuel Presser
I know this isn't the correct place for additives, but I've got the lift pump on the filter and that brings me to my question. I've been using 8oz PS & 8oz 2 Stroke per tank. When I start truck, while waiting for wait to start light, my fuel presser reads 1-2 psi, when started my BD Aux kicks in and reads 17 psi. I know its cold here in Mass. and I get some waxing and low readings. I just came back from FL. where outside temperatures were 70* - 80*. I would get reading of 4 psi at wait to start and 19-20 psi running. Last Friday I decided to try Howes. I added 8oz to a tank of fuel. Now while waiting for wait to start it reads 8 psi. and running 23-24 psi. Now I changed fuel filters before I went south and again when I got back with no changes in fuel presser. Can anyone tell me how just 8oz of Howes changed the fuel presser? Did it eat holes in my fuel filter?
Also as per my signature, I have Quad XZT and Rokktec, both advance my timing and I get a lot of engine rattle from them. When I added the XZT, the rattle was starting to remind me of my 2nd gen. thats why I was asking if I had too much timing advance with both. But now it's gone, maybe not gone but I can hardly hear it at all, and I can't believe how smooth the engine runs. How can just 8oz of Howes make that much of a difference?
I have been running the 8oz PS Diesel Cleen & 8oz 2 cycle oil for about 6 months now. I ran out of 2 cycle oil the middle of last week and have just been running the PS and have noticed a couple of things now after 2 tanks of fuel. My fuel pressure has gone up 2 psi and the truck just plan runs better. It has a lot more pickup than with the 2 cycle oil plus I have noticed a 1 mpg increase in mileage. At this point I am not using 2 cycle oil anymore.
