Hot shotters using the new 6.7

Two members at hotshothauling.com have bought 6.7's and put them to work . Watersedge farms only has a couple of thousand miles on his . EB bought his around November 21 and has about 6,000 miles on his . Both like the trucks except for lower fuel mileage . ( 10 mpg loaded , 15 mpg no trailer)

I think that's perfectly average for an infant truck.

I agree with Begle1, with further break-in time the mileage should come up.

Did they say anything about how it was powerwise? Do they like it better or worse than the 5.9?

3,000 miles per month for a Hotshoter? He must work 1 day per week. When I worked contruction, I put 1,000-1,500 per week on my personal truck.

By the way, I thought these trucks weren't going on sale until this year. How did someone buy one in November?

EB now has 15,000 on his truck . Says he can't tell much difference between it and the 5.9 . Remember there was really no gain in horsepower . He said the 6.7 and the Ainsin are a good combo though . He has the single cab and 11 ft. bed any says the longer wheelbase does give a better ride . I have to also add Brooks transport just traded a 7.3 Powerstroke for a new 4500 Duramax and he is real impressed . He's pulled 20,000 lbs. up some serious hills . He's never had a Dodge . He has several 7.3 Powerstrokes but started trading them off when he found out how much money Ford was giving to "them soddomites "

You can get plenty of info here - even price a new one . The long wheelbase is 84" back of cab to rear axle . http://www.dodge.com/en/chassis_cab/...asy_upfit.html

I have nothing against Duramax's but have observed the same heavily loaded(not above the sides) 4500 dump struggling to go up a freeway hill in my area.I don't know if the same rig is consistently overloaded or what.

Even the most powerful engine out there will struggle if it isn't geared properly. Don't judge an engine by how fast you get to the top of the hill.

My new service truck is a 6.7, with the new 6 spd. trans. Only 3k so far, but I really like it. We have 4 of them in our fleet and for the most part everybodys impressed. Plus they have a little bit of the 6.0 whissle, Thanks to the vgt. Very nice
