Post Help finding diesel truck reliabilty table?

I'm looking for a graphic chart or table that was posted here several months ago, and seems to have entirely dissappeared. It was originally put out by Consumer Guide, I believe. I shows the # of reported problems per 100 vechiles, includes the hybrid cars, and shows the Ford at about 450% above average. Anyone know where to find this? I have a freind about to buy a 6.0 liter and want to encourage him to think otherwise! Thanks for your help.

6.0 engine/charts reliability issues etc.

dont say anything, just go to dieselstop.com and let him do the math,if he still buys a ford buy him a drip pan for christmas along with some advil.and for the record i dont think its funny, alot people going through some rough times with their trucks and ford should be more supportive to the customer.good luck.

actually hammajamma the GMC was the more reliable of the two GM products, both very close the average. The Dodge was actually the most reliable vechile (even more than the Honda & Toyota products) at about 40% BELOW average.

dieseldavesr, You're right about the drip pan; even more right about Ford's recent reputation and their lack of customer support. Odd thing is, those guys keep right on buying them, and "hope they got a good one..."

Hey, not to sound dumb, but can someone explain to me how GMC can be more reliable than Chevrolet when they both come off the same assembly lines with the same parts??

I think the chart you are referring to is from the JD power 2004 vehicle reliability study.

It compared "alternate fuel" vehicle reliability vs reliability of gas power in the same vehicle. They were comparing Insite to Civic, Prius vs Corrola, Diesel Ford vs Gas Ford and so on.

If I read it correctly, Dodge Diesels have -41% problem rate vs gas Dodge, where Ford diesels showed 430% vs gas Fords...

Although the image credits it's source, I would imagine there may have been concern about whether or not it was proper to post it...
