Have you completely stopped driving your truck?

How many of you have completely stopped driving your truck, even on the weekends? I'm on my 4th week now. I filled up the tank to the neck and parked it. I drove it once around the block to get things flowing and started it once more to move it. It actually feels kinda good because I know my truck is there but I'm saving money. Having the tank full feels good too. Like having a pot of gold.

Carpool with the wife...Can't...and really wouldn't. I'd hate to say it, but I'll pay what they ask, at least until it comes down to NFL Sunday Ticket or fuel.

I get almost 17 mpg in mixed driving in the truck.
Need the truck to tow our toy hauler.

Our BMW 330i gets 21mpg in mixed driving. We own it.
Our GTI gets about 25 mpg but the lease is up in October.

I carpool with my girl to work, and we really only need one car.

The BMW is for sale.
The GTI will not be replaced.

If we drove the truck around it would cost us an extra ~$100 per month in fuel.
The fuel savings don't come close justifying a car payment.
Looks like we'll be driving the truck more than ever

I now only run my trucks when necessary. I ran the Benz until the gauge was on reserve and parked it.

I still drive my truck everyday and as much as ever. The fuel costs are hurting bad, but what is my alternative? I have to commute or sell my house and move closer to work. Houses aren't selling all that well and houses closer in cost a fortune or make it otherwise not worth eating the costs to make a move I don't really want to do anyway.

But buying another vehicle, with another car payment and insurance payment just doesn't seem like an option either. All the fuel efficient vehicles are out of site right now....and I don't really feel safe in a small car anyway.

There is a chance I could find somebody to carpool with to work...but usually the schedules don't match up or one of us would be wasting our own personal time in one form or another....waiting on the other. Time and Money...I never seem to have enough of either.

All but quit driving it. I now bicycle to work and have even thought about walking to/from work once the snow flies and the bicycle won't cut it.

Won't sell the truck though....

Geezer-Glide on "nice" days,
Wifey's Landcruiser on rainy days.
Truck on weekends hauling "stuff" 3 1/2 hrs to the other place, or during the week whenever big stuff is involved.

I only drive my truck to work (25 miles round trip) if the weather is bad and to Lowes on my days off as needed. Otherwise, it is all motorcycle riding for me.

My commute is only a couple of miles and I have 3 other cars to drive. Unless I take road trips, a diesel fillup usually lasts close to a month. That said I have slowed down quite a bit to make every drop of diesel go as far as possible.
