Guy smoked a head gasket on his FEEEERRRD

A while back I had started a thread about a guy I see once a week with a Ford 6.0 Power Joke! Has an MBRT dual exhaust on it. Well he just put on a K&N system and has since added 2 comps. to his truck. He as a Predator in the cab and another chip under the hood. NO GAUGES!!! He said while pulling his 600lb quad he blew a head gasket. POOR GUY!! Nicest guy too. Has nothing but good things to say about our Cummins.

I told him he is going to destroy his truck. He just kinda lauged and shrugged. THis is the second time he has smoked "SOMETHING' with his chips he puts in.

I said to him that is the 6.OOOOOHHHHHHH for yah.!!

WIth all do respect though his turbo sounds nasty at the lightest push on the pedal.

Stupid is as stupid does. Don't blame his ignorance on the 6.0.

No gauges! The nasty sound with the turbo was probably caused form shutting down the truck after a hard pull and the EGTs still very high a few to many times. Sounds like he will destroy any truck he gets into. Some people never learn.

I'm not sure I would be throwing rocks at the Ford 6.0 because of blown head gaskets. The 5.9L Cummins is not blameless in that regard.

OK Rusty just to let you know I wasn't "THROWING ROCKS" I will explain it deeper for yah!! One of the workers had a Duramax, one is getting a DOdge, and the other is the POWER STROKE we are talking about. We were all bustin each others chops about each brand. Just to let you know that the FORD 6.0 wasn't the only one getting "rocks thrown" at! MMMMMKAY!!!!! The joke was made about the 6.0 blowing a head gasket pulling 600lbs!!!

Thats kinda odd since the 6.0 has a 5 layer stainless gatsket, pretty much unblowable unless the head lifts. Somethin about those 6.0's that I just dont like, to many problems with them.

A local Dodge dealer is putting on classes for people like this (New owners).
I have a brother-by-law that would benifit greatly from a class like this when he purchased his new Ford.

Copied from TDR:
Carson Dodge has initiated a "Diesel 101" course for customers who have purchased Dodge turbo diesel trucks equipped with the Cummins engine. The two-hour course, taught by John Holmes, covers many of the idiosyncrasies of operating a heavy-duty diesel pickup. The "Diesel 101" course is designed for those who have never owned a diesel vehicle.

New diesel owners who have attended have given the class a big "thumbs up." Over 30 operating characteristics are reviewed. Each attendee is given handouts including Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) specific to their trucks, such as the one outlining Dodge's approved oil filters. There is plenty of time for questions.

The class is held once a month, on Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. - noon. For more information, contact: (775) 883-2020. Note: average class size runs 10 - 15.

Next Class: May 22, 2004.
