Homestead, way to go! If he were to break a few ribs when falling that would have been great too. Sounds to me like you kept a cool head, I'll bet he won't forget that truck! I would have paid to see the look on his face as the hose goes down his throat and his head bounces off the truck....priceless!! Did anyone get the license of the truck that just hit me???

Good job, ur lucky you caught him. I always have the luck of not catching some vandal in the act, however my wifes says that is a good thing? I would have showed him where to put the other end of that hose Hope he doesnt try to press charges..............losers. guess I'm gonna get a locking cap now too as well.

Unless you have removed the rollover ball from your fuel fill hose it is impossible for someone to siphon. A siphon hose just can't make it around the ball unless it is tiny.

This is just the beginning, it's going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.
As much as I hate people that steal, just be cafefull how far you carry the pounding. Could turn and work against you in the long run. I probably would be in jail right now cause there may have been red stuff leaking from him but that's just me.

As angering as it is, I think people's fantasies and television are causing them to take physical altercations too far these days. Back in the day, if someone was punched a few times and did not get up, they typically 'had enough.' Now with all of the movies/tv shows/ultimate fighting people are watching, they seem to want brutal pulpy devastation, and send people to the hospital. I think getting clocked once, sucking down diesel and puking, and then furthermore getting arrested, was plenty punishment...despite how frustrating and wrong the act was.. I think homestead exercised proper restraint!

I agree. Thats why I'm not in jail and I won't personally go looking for the idiots that stole our truck. I'm not sure I would have the restraint. I don't have a bad temper, some things eat at me and theft is one of them.

??? Just how would you file an insurance claim to have a face print taken out of the side of your truck??? But I bet the satifaction of catching the dude was worth it.... Wish I could have done the same to the dude that sucked my wife's Saturn dry.

Hmmmmm, I wonder how hard it would be to make a hidden fuel filler then plumb the stock one into a gallon waste oil container?.....

Or better yet, a small container of,
well, ummm , pre digested food stuffs.

A mini "black water" tank if you will.

Homestead: that story rings familiar.
I remember Scotty telling the tale of the gentleman he found unconcious and hanging out of the broken window in his truck.
"Seriously officer, I just found him like that, he must have slipped while breaking into the truck"

For those who aren't familiar with Scotty, he's not a small man either, by any means.

I thought about a special stealers tank as well. I'm a little more twisted so dunno what I would put in there, maybe visine. Gives the runs! I can be meaner like certain chemicals but dunno wanna spend a day in jail, or how about red diesel, then report them for using off road diesel??

Way to go Homestead, punishment fit the crime. Hope your truck is all right. Locking gas caps don't work. They just slow some down a little and usually make the damage worse because crooks will scratch your truck prying it off!!

You could put one inside the bed easy enough. If you don't have a **** plastic bed liner (my '99, it covers the hole). Even then it would just have to be able to move a little.

You could also do something behind the wheelwell liner. Just fuel the truck from the wheelwell. If you dont have the liner it wouldn't hide it well and I would worry about road debris, but a thief wouldn't think to look there anyway.

As for the dummy (thief) tank I like visine. Maybe "TURBO LAX". Anyone ever smelled let alone tasted Tee tree oil. A healthy alternitive. I don't think they could arrest you for that.
