Got me a new '05 Dura Max!!!

Thank goodness it's just a rental.

I may be biased, just like my ten month old is the cutest little girl you ever did see. But I tell you what:

My CTD is head and shoulders above the new Chevy truck.

Pluses and Minuses:

Chevy rides like a car...I bought a 3/4 ton pickup
Chevy's turbo takes forever to spool up...
Chevy has too many gadgets...
Chevy is VERY quite...I could not tell from the drivers seat I was driving a diesel...
The Chevy is quick off the line but does not have the UUUMMMPPH our beloved Cummins has...
Chevy sits too low for a 4X4...It is sure wierd getting in to without Nurf bars and a grab handle.

The Chevy sound system is WAY better than ours.

These are just my findings and opinions while the real truck is in the shop for a minor front end shimmy and some maintenance.

I MISS MY TRUCK !!!!!!
Tom

I like the tranny a lot better in the Dmax than my hunk of junk. Turbo spool up seems the same to me. I like gadgets. My sound system rocks over any factory stereo. Agreed on the 4x4 thing and the quietness.

to be able to plug in a box worth 215 extra Hp..and have almost 500 HP in 5 minutes what else should you complain about...let's not mention ANOTHER Edge plug in, and your over 600 to the wheels ...try THAT with a Dodge

Exactly. Put a built tranny behind it and you've got yourself a 12 sec driver for way less than you would a dodge.

That's if you are looking for a race truck. I had one. Nice trucks. I enjoy this Dodge as far as looks, stance and sheer diesel more than the Dmax.

Turn them into 400-500 hp machines and all you do is dump money into them, no matter what brand. I'm staying reasonable. 305 hp is plenty for me. The high hp is fun but comes at a great price eventually. Many are simply beating the crap out of them than unloading em. I would not touch a high mileage DMax... BIG bucks when she goes down.

Well the CTD is still in the shop.

Service writer called me at 4:00pm and said, "Oh we think we can fix your steering wheel vibration by completing a TSB that puts a new hose with a weight on it, on the PS system.

I asked you to do that at 1200 miles and you told me to take a hike.

Anyway, traded in the DMax for a 300M, All I can say is Holy........<-----fill in explative here. This is a very nice ride.

Truck should be good as new tomorrow.

We'll see!

I have one box, and no problems hossing around loaded on the farm. HEHEHEHE Same truck as far as pulling power. I love gadgets as well, and its nice not to have to fight the truck on the road. I am short so I like the stance. HEHEHEHEH

Personaly I like the GM trucks. I grew up driving them. I had a 00 GMC Z71. It had every option in the book. That was a sweet truck. I have never been super impressed by GMs diesels but I have never been impressed by Dodges trucks. I wish I could get a Cummins in a GMC crew cab with the Allison, then I would be in heaven. The one and only reason I bought this truck was for whats under the hood. If I wasent so afraid of the long term reliability of the Duramax that is what I would be driveing. As far as relibility after bombing, I dont bomb them so that is of no consern.
