Glad to have a dodge

The other day a guy comes in to the shop and wants to know if i can work on a 05 chevy dura max that wont shift gears 45k on the miles on the truck. says no warranty after 36k. he paid as much for that truck as i paid for mine what a rip . no i didnot work on it I sent him to a trans shop down the street

Last I checked a duramax didn't run on gas. Maybe the 05's are multi fuel

Thats a shame. I have often heard that chevy transmissions are much worse than Dodge. Please correct me if I'm wrong

I thought the Allison was the absolute best stock tranny offered by anyone. You have to figure that if 20,000 units are produced, X number are going to have problems. That goes for anything.

I was mainly talking about the pre allison transmissions. Which I know that your are bound determined to have a few bad transmissions out of every bunch produced.

Or you could be like my boss and put gas in your duramax.... then pay for a tow...

Go buy a new Dodge. They are the same. 36K warenty. No more 70K drivetrain warenty. 36K bumper to bumper and 100K engine thats it.
